Actiu was involved, having teamed up with its partner Atri, in the project to increase the size of the historic headquarters of the mutual insurance company, MAZ, in Zaragoza founded in 1905 and a Social Security collaborator.
Located right in the heart of Zaragoza, the headquarters houses a new building within the old one; now with more than 3,500 m2 of surface area. After an integral refurbishment, the group of buildings now brings to life the vision of a mutual insurance company that prioritises, above all, the well-being of its workers in order to provide a better service to its members.
Taking into account the premises and quality demanded by MAZ, the equipment solutions include the latest and most advanced trends in work spaces. Actiu, as a benchmark in innovation in the office furniture industry, played a key role in bringing the company´s ideas to life. With a functional design, adapted to the different areas, its furniture is used to equip both management offices and work stations, as well as rest areas, and meeting and training rooms.
The heart of the project, the central courtyard that dominated the original building and around which the different rooms were located, has been extended and turned into a rest and office area.
A striking yellow colour that stands out against the dark backdrop of the walls and ceiling, several sound absorbing Longo Pod modules offer seating solutions to workers and visitors alike, recreating a more intimate environment that enhances privacy.
The wide range of Whass chairs equip the waiting areas and the training room in the basement. The bench model in the former, and the four-legged with tablet arm model in the latter. In all of them, bright colours were chosen that stand out against the neutral black and white backdrop
Highly versatile and coming in different models, the range of Urban chairs equips both medical practices, offices and meeting rooms.
In the areas reserved for workers, the range of Prisma tables adds warmth and colour to work areas.
The Trama tables are located in the large meeting rooms. Folding, dynamic and functional, this range also allows the space to be adapted to different uses and lay outs.
The abundant supply of natural light that shines through the many openings in the facades and courtyard, most of them still remaining from the old headquarters, allows us to play with a range of darker tones than usual, on which the light finishes of the furniture stand out.
Although the current situation has not yet allowed for workers to come back to the new offices on a full-time basis, those who have already done so highlight the bright and open nature of the space. An environment in which communication, companionship and collaboration take precedence.
