Adapting educational spaces, part 2

We continue with the special on the evolution of educational places.

In the previous article, we finished by mentioning the three primary needs to be solved in terms of readapting educational spaces (studied by specialists from the award-winning Spanish furniture manufacturer, Actiu). These are: safe distancing, capacity limitation and protection of people.

From now on, trends will be directed towards spaces where new methodologies are worked on, with flexible environments that are configured depending on the needs of each moment. The furniture must be more than a conditioning for the classrooms, one more tool that integrates it, in addition to this, there must be the possibility of applying different methodologies also taking into account the security measures after the pandemic.

Now we are going to look at a couple of examples of classrooms adapted to the post-covid measures studied by the Actiu experts:

Option 1: DYNAMIC classroom.

Three adjacent spaces equipped with the same product:

  • Folding and stackable tables.
  • Mobile panels.
  • Super stackable chairs.

Option 2: FOREST classroom (concept).

Multifunctional environment with different possibilities according to need:

  • O-shaped training for teamwork, where students do not turn their backs.
  • Collaborative configuration, with two tables facing each other.
  • Place of private conversation, with Longo Pod that provides friendliness and phono-absorbency for teacher-student talks.
