Flexible, and activity-based working

Know which one can benefit your workspace the most

Modal changes that have occurred in workspaces have shown that it is more important to focus on the tasks and functions to be carried out in said space, rather than on the office itself. Today the opportunity to replace the rigidity of conventional work areas with a flexible space designed to encourage individual choice and independence.

Much has been said in the last two years about agile and flexible work modalities, especially due to the rapid change of styles in work areas. This has proven to be a new challenge as well as an excellent opportunity for companies around the world. It is being the ideal time to adapt to new work styles and move towards the most current and avant-garde vision of work.

Learning the meaning of each new work style and knowing how to differentiate them will be the key to exploiting them to the fullest and getting the most out of them.

We have talked about Agile work on more than one occasion, its objective itself is to create a flexible office and a productive environment. Creating distinct work areas within the office ensures that employees have the freedom and flexibility to work where they want when they want.

Working in an agile environment helps individuals to avoid spending all day sitting at their desks and allows them to establish a more appropriate workspace according to the task at hand.

The flexible work method may be the most radical change from traditional work paradigms. The new generations are the ones who are most committed to this style of work, and it is the most feasible method for those business owners who need solutions for the modern workforce.

While agile work focuses on incentivizing employees to work in different areas according to the designated activity, flexible work is about working time. It focuses on scheduling patterns that help employees create a good work-life balance.

The flexible work modality consists of bringing together people, processes, connectivity, and technology, thus allowing the creation of a flexible work pattern in offices. It will enable people to work from home if necessary, at times that work for them, and with the equipment, they need to stay connected.

As the last innovative work modality is focused on activity. This is a philosophy that makes work more effective and efficient, but also more convenient for both the company and the employee.

The activity-based system focuses on employees and gives them the freedom (with their respective limits) to decide for themselves how, where, and when to work, what tools to use, and with whom to collaborate to get their work done.

The reality is that, currently, the old work systems, such as the office work modality with fixed hours, are used only 50% of the time, which is a true waste of resources, effectiveness, and operational costs.

The combination of work styles and flexibility of the work areas allows employees to feel more comfortable and free, adapting to what they need in the day, and switching between quieter work areas and shared spaces when it is necessary to work as a team.
