Adapting educational spaces, part 1

It is time to rethink the needs for the evolution of spaces

Just as the offices have been transforming over the years (and now with the post covid modality, more changes will be unavoidable), also the educational areas must begin to adapt to a beneficial change to preserve the well-being and health of the assistant staff to educational entities.

If the educational facilities were already obsolete and outdated, not only in furniture but in infrastructure, now with the global problem of a health pandemic that threatens everyone in general, generating confidence and security in students, Representatives and other workforce of educational entities must be considered as a fundamental priority to be solved because this will be what makes parents send their children back to classrooms, as well as the motivating force that teachers and professors also need to feel safe to leave home and return to classes in person.

The main issue is to start thinking and planning what and how the educational areas of the present and future will be (thinking of the future as the immediate tomorrow), especially taking into account how the classroom concept will evolve along with the new educational models.

The experts of Actiu, a famous Spanish furniture manufacturer, have carried out an exhaustive study of the three fundamental aspects to be taken into account for the evolution of educational spaces, resulting in the ones that must be taken into account with greater diligence are: safe distancing, capacity limitation and protection of people. From these three needs to be solved, the transformation of all educational environments should be addressed.
